Our Story

Art Delectables is a luxury organic dessert brand based in Los Angeles, California and is owned and operated by a Black, woman-led team consisting of three generations of mothers and daughters. The company was founded in 2016 by Deljah "Chef Simone" Dickson, who wanted to create a space where she could educate her community on the importance of making healthier, organic food choices. Art.Delectables' desserts are made with quality, organic ingredients and do not contain any artificial sweeteners, colors, additives, or preservatives.

The company creates its desserts in-house, including all sauces, coulis, fillings, toppings, and icings, and they are made in small batches to ensure attention to detail and quality. Art.Delectables' desserts have 30% less sugar than traditional preparations, making them a healthier option for those with a sweet tooth.

We strive to demonstrate that it is possible to indulge in delicious desserts without consuming high levels of sugar, preservatives, additives, and toxins. We use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients to create organic desserts that appeal to a wide range of customers, including those who are health-conscious, new to healthy eating, foodies seeking indulgent experiences, and those with dietary restrictions like veganism or food allergies. Our desserts are sold to small delis, wine, and cheese shops, and directly to consumers through Kroger marketplace and our own website.  Deljah S Dickson, founder of Art Delectables, is a classically trained pastry chef with a unique background in both nutrition and culinary arts. Chef Simone is an expert in food science and culinary arts, creating delicious and healthy desserts using balanced flavors and 30% less sugar. Her creations have been recognized by major retailers, including her successful keto fat bombs developed for other brands. She is also skilled in solving challenges for companies, such as creating a keto white chocolate when none was available or optimizing formulas for large-scale production. Additionally, she is the author of two books and known for her unique approach to healthy desserts and education on healthy food choices.

As the founder and Executive chef of Art Delectables, Deljah is known for her passion for using fresh, high-quality ingredients to create delicious and beautifully presented desserts. Her sophisticated palate and ability to balance flavors result in unique and flavorful desserts that are both healthy and visually stunning. The Art Delectables team includes a seasoned board of advisors with over 50 years of combined experience in the food industry. The team is led by Deljah Simone Dickson, the CEO and executive chef, who has been featured in several publications including Food and Wine, LA Parent, and Fodors Travel Magazine. The COO, Clotee McAfee, brings over 40 years of experience in for-profit and non-profit industries to the team. The marketing and sales team has extensive experience working with grocery store chains, and the company has a strong partnership with a co-packer that produces over 5 million desserts a year. Art Delectables is also proud to have a young entrepreneur on the team, Madison Dorsey, who started her first business, an organic lemonade stand, at the age of five. With such a diverse and experienced team, Art Delectables is able to deliver high-quality desserts in a timely manner at a premium cost.
